Hands-on board Strawberry SMASH!

Ingredients:

  • 250 g fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
  • Pinch of ground Black pepper
  • Pinch of pink rock salt
  • Fresh mint
  • 15 ml pecan nuts, broken
  • 15 ml dark chocolate, chopped
  • Merinque
  • Lemon zest to decorate
  • Optional: Rum for the final touch

Method

  • This is a ‘hands-on’ recipe which means you can prepare it all with your hands, great as a camping desert solution.
  • Place the strawberries in a shallow bowl, lightly mash them with a fork or your hands If you wish.
  • Add the pepper and salt, and let it stand aside for 5min.
  • Tear the mint leaves into small pieces.
  • Place your palm on top of the méringue and apply pressure to slightly crack &
  • break the meringue
  • Stack the strawberries, mint, nuts, and chocolate on top of the meringue.
  • Serve with lemon zest and a splash of rum.
