Hands-on board Strawberry SMASH!
Ingredients:
- 250 g fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
- Pinch of ground Black pepper
- Pinch of pink rock salt
- Fresh mint
- 15 ml pecan nuts, broken
- 15 ml dark chocolate, chopped
- Merinque
- Lemon zest to decorate
- Optional: Rum for the final touch
Method
- This is a ‘hands-on’ recipe which means you can prepare it all with your hands, great as a camping desert solution.
- Place the strawberries in a shallow bowl, lightly mash them with a fork or your hands If you wish.
- Add the pepper and salt, and let it stand aside for 5min.
- Tear the mint leaves into small pieces.
- Place your palm on top of the méringue and apply pressure to slightly crack &
- break the meringue
- Stack the strawberries, mint, nuts, and chocolate on top of the meringue.
- Serve with lemon zest and a splash of rum.
