Ingredients
- 30ml castor sugar
- 15 ml farm butter
- 10 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (organic)
- 1.25 ml ground cinnamon (Ceylon cinnamon preferably)
- 250 g strawberries
Optional
- Toasted coconut shavings crushed to cover glazed strawberries
- Dark chocolate sprinkles to cover glazed strawberries
Method
- Combine the sugar, butter, lemon juice and cinnamon in a medium saucepan.
- Cook slowly and stir continuously until thick and syrupy.
- Remove from the heat and add the strawberries, tossing gently until coated.
- Serve immediately with homemade custard or ice cream.
Optional
- Cool glazed strawberries on a plate then roll them in fine roasted coconut or chocolate or even both!
