Ingredients:
(serves 5)
10x fresh strawberries, washed, hulled and cut in halve
15 ml smooth peanut butter (preferably organic)
¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
10 ml raw honey
Boiling hot water
Optional: add a pinch of nutmeg and cumin to the peanut butter
sauce.
Method
- Place the peanut butter, cinnamon and raw honey in a small pot.
- Heat the ingredients on low and mix. Start by slowly adding the hot water
- to the mixture and mix with a tiny whisk until it makes a smooth almost runny sauce. Add more cinnamon if you prefer.
- Place the cut strawberries in a pretty bowl and serve with the peanut butter sauce.

It is almost the end of winter in our wonderful country, South Africa. We have had one of the coldest winters in decades! Colder weather often triggers hunger or cravings, and having seasonal, healthy snacks at hand might just curb unwanted over eating or prevent eating the wrong foods. Peanut butter provides healthy proteins, cinnamon is a great blood sugar stabiliser and a powerful anti-oxidant. When combined with strawberries, you have the perfect snack that is also quick to prepare!
