Strawberry – Whole Oats Smoothie

Ingredients

  • One punnet fresh strawberries, hulled and cut
  • ½ – 1 cup coconut milk or almond or organic cow’s milk
  • ½ cup of steel cut oat-groats (from Woolworths)
  • 2cm fresh ginger root
  • 1 cm fresh turmeric root (optional)
  • 1 organic banana (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoon honey or coconut sugar

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Enjoy as a breakfast meal or as a late afternoon snack.
