(serves 4)

  • 250 g large strawberries, washed and hulled
  • ½ cup pecan nuts
  • 30 ml macadamia oil
  • 30 ml raw honey
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Fresh rosemary leaves

Serving options: Seed crackers, cream cheese and a balsamic reduction


  • Cut the bottom end of the strawberry off, then cut a hole in the top of the strawberry to form a cup.
  • Place the nuts, honey, rosemary, salt and garlic in a blender, blend until smooth.
  • Add the oil at the end and blend until a pâté, smooth consistency forms.
  • Fill the strawberry cups with the pâté and serve as a starter or as a healthy snack

Snacks can be turned into the most nutritious little bundles of joy! Having nuts with fruit assist in the slower release of sugars and in turn may balance blood glucose levels. It can also give you a feeling of safety, preventing over-eating. These bite-size strawberry cups can be filled with so many other options, so let your imagination loose!
